Surfing Maldives
A dream comes true
In 2006 me and three of my buddies traveled to the Maldives for the first time. Actually, we thought we knew it all as we had surfing experience both in the USA (Hawaii) and along the Australian coast, but believe me surfing on the maldives is unlike any other surfing experience!
Leaving the beautiful islands, the great accomodations, hotels and the unbelievable frindly people of the Maldive Islands aside, the numerous number of surfing spots is simply overwhelming. So, if you´re looking for a great holiday with relaxing boat trips, swimming with dolphins or simply relaxing on one of the endless beaches the Maldives is the place to book your next vacation.
Just look at some impressions of our first trip:
It´s been sooo cool, surfing the waves on the maldives. Wish I could be there all year long!
On our way to the best surfing spots!

As I don´t want to look like one of these weirdos having nothing but surfing on my mind, which unfortunately would be true, here some nice facts about the Maldives apart from surfing:
The name "Maldives" derives from Maale Dhivehi Raajje ("The Island Kingdom [under the authority of] Malé)." Some scholars believe that the name "Maldives" derives from the Sanskrit maladvipa, meaning "garland of islands", or from mahila dvipa, meaning "island of women", but these names are not found in ancient Sanskrit literature. Instead, classical Sanskrit texts mention the "Hundred Thousand Islands" (Lakshadweepa).
Enough of that. Back to what I´m best at: Surfing! Surfing Surfing!

Oh, by the way, this is me... . And I always think back to that surfing trip on the Maldives. Guess I will go back there surfing this year!!!
